Bishop Richard Honored on Tenth Anniversary As Bishop

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the episcopal ordination of His Grace, Bishop Richard (Seminack). His time at the helm of the Eparchy has seen a myriad of events, locally, across the country or abroad. His filled calendar includes visits to parishes, monastic communities and countless meetings. There have been clergy conferences, re-treats, bishops' meetings, synodal gatherings and other duties and responsibilities.

It was no easy feat to schedule a time for some expression of gratitude for his selfless serving of the needs of the eparchy, a priest, a parish, a person with a question or request. Knowing he would participate in the Akathist and renewal of Baptismal Promises, a plan was devised to hold a reception after the ceremony, and include a tribute to our Chief Shepherd.

Each of the homilists at the Akathist addressed His Grace and acknowledged his decade of faithful service to the Church of the Eparchy of St Nicholas.

Among the attendees were many of the clergy and faithful. Children of St Nicholas Cathedral School sang several songs; there were  remarks from representatives of the clergy, the parish, the credit union, and a presentation to our bishop of an icon, newly-written for the occasion. Bishop Richard also took the microphone to publicly thank all those who help-ed make the event memorable.

And of course, followed the refrain: “Many Years!”
