The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of the Eparchy of Saint Nicholas in Chicago for the Ukrainians (United States of America) His Grace Venedykt (Aleksiychuk, M.S.U.), transferring him from the titular see of Germaniciana and the office of auxiliary of the archieparchy of Lviv of the Ukrainians.

It is usual that funeral rites span several days. The funeral for His Grace, Bishop Richard (Seminack) was not exceptional in this regard.

Clergy Retreat Held in Texas

Lake Dallas, Texas – The priests and deacons of St Nicholas Eparchy made their annual retreat this year at Montserrat Jesuit Retreat House in Lake Dallas, Texas. From time to time the yearly spiritual exercise has taken place away from Chicago, moved to various environs of our widespread eparchy. This trip to the northern part of the Lone Star State provided a chance for new experiences.

Triple Jubilee in Denver

Sunday, August 10, 2014 family, friends and parishioners of the Transfiguration of Our Lord Parish in Denver, Colorado gathered to celebrate Fr Deacon Michael Bozio’s 90th birthday, 65th wedding anniversary and 25th anniversary of his ordination to the diaconate. Family arrived not only from Colorado, but also from Kentucky, and Chicago, Illinois.

Clergy Chrism Conference, 2014

Focusing again on the “Vibrant Parish” topic, the clergy of St Nicholas Eparchy met at Mundelein's Cardinal Stritch Retreat House, June 2-5, 2014. In this third look at a December, 2011 Pastoral Letter on this subject by His Beatitude +Sviatoslav, more practical emphasis was placed upon implementing the process that had been previously studied for its theoretical content.
